Melo started as a solution to centralize bill payments, but quickly evolved into something far more complex: a platform serving two very different users at once — everyday people paying rent and utilities, and companies managing hundreds of invoices and properties every month.

The core design challenge was clear: how do you build a single interface that feels effortless for a first-time user paying their gas bill, yet powerful enough for a finance team handling 200+ accounts, without it feeling like two separate products?

We started from zero, mapping and structuring the entire information architecture across the main key screens. Rather than cramming every feature into a single menu, we designed a profile bifurcation from the very first tap, separating personal and enterprise tools so each user only sees what's relevant to them.

From there, we built the product around a single strategic axis: money in vs. money out. The payments flow focused on zero friction through OCR invoice scanning, while the collections flow prioritized automation and communication, bulk generation, WhatsApp and email delivery, and overdue tracking. A modular component system and strict UI Kit ensured the experience scaled across mobile and desktop without breaking consistency.
